The Equalizer: Chloe Moretz to Co-Star with Denzel Washington

The trend of turning 80’s TV series into feature length films continues with Michael Sloan’s The Equalizer, a show about a retired intelligence agent with a mysterious past and helps people in trouble.  The series ran for four seasons (1985-1989), starred the late Edward Woodward, and often mixed elements of spy movies with private investigation shows.

Flash forward to 2013.  As of right now, Denzel Washington will be playing Woodward’s role, and Antoine Fuqua will be directing the film to be distributed by Sony Pictures.  Surprising reports are saying that Chloe Moretz (Kick Ass and the creepy Carrie remake) has scored the co-starring role opposite of Washington’s character.  Moretz will be playing Teri, which is a role written for an older actress since Teri is a prostitute.  Sources stated that Washington is very impressed with Moretz and says the pair has great chemistry.

The Equalizer is planned to release mid April next year.

What do you think of this interesting duo?  A 16-year-old girl playing a prostitute?  Should this trend continue?  Leave your thoughts in the comment box below!
