“The Fault in Our Stars” to be filmed in…

The Fault in Our Stars is a young adult novel about two terminally-ill teenagers who fall in love while taking part in a support group for children with cancer.  The novel written by John Green hit the bestseller list in 2012 and is being adapted for the big screen.  Josh Boone will be directing this adaptation from writing duo Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber, the team behind (500) Days of Summer (cue my inner fangirl scream).

For those of you familiar with the story, you know the story takes place in Indianapolis.  Well, I woke up to some pretty exciting news that my city will be turned into Indianapolis on August 26.  That’s right.  The filming location for The Fault in Our Stars will be in PITTSBURGH, PA!  I’m really looking forward to seeing more incredibly shots of my hometown hit the big screen in 2015.

The two lead roles will be played by Shailene Woodley and newcomer Ansel Elgort, who will make his cinematic debut in the remake of Carrie this fall.  The Fault in Our Stars will be distributed by Fox 2000 Pictures and production in Pittsburgh begins August 26, 2013, which is when I start classes for fall semester.
